The Kennedy Centre Get Behind Haiti Relief Effort

The Kennedy Centre in association with Friendly Faces Entertainment is getting behind the drive for overseas aid following the devastating earthquake that hit the Caribbean island of Haiti on Tuesday 12 January. On Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st January the Friendly Faces team will be at The Kennedy Centre hosting a children's fun day with balloon modelling and face painting for donations to the relief effort. John Jones, Centre Manager at The Kennedy Centre said, "We were very keen to show our support for the relief effort following the humanitarian crisis in Haiti.

There are many events throughout the world in the coming weeks trying to raise much needed funds so we are delighted to be doing our bit to help. Friendly Faces have worked closely with the people of Haiti for over a year so this is an especially difficult time for them. We hope that shoppers at the centre will take their children along over the weekend to avail of the face painting and balloon modelling while supporting a deserving cause. We will also be putting on a bouncy castle and some Giant connect 4, Draughts and Jenga to make the days great occassions."

Friendly Faces managing director Trevor King returned from an aid mission to the island 10 weeks ago and has lost some friends and fellow aid workers. Trevor King, Friendly Faces said, "We launched an appeal in the wake of the earthquake in Haiti and the response has been fantastic to date. We are delighted to be bringing our fundraising team to The Kennedy Centre and we hope that we will have lots of support from the people of West Belfast."

All proceeds collected will be channelled the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund through the charity Compassion.
